Fixed Plant Maintenance
Gold processing plants and the associated infrastructure come in all ages, sizes, complexities, and levels of integrated technologies.
Whilst many sites are newer or have been regularly upgraded, some sites use old technology and systems, and the plant and associated infrastructure can be decades old.
Remote Western Australia is arguably one of the harshest mining environments in the world, and the gold-bearing ore that is processed; especially from underground operations; is particularly challenging to process
Fixed Plant Maintenance is a huge part of what we do here at Geographe Electrical & Communication (GEC).
We've had teams on most of the gold plants across Western Australia at one time or another. This is often during commissioning, but most commonly as operational support during expansions, upgrades, shutdowns, or outages.
It's not uncommon for us to complete electrical repairs or an electrical upgrade on a plant, and then come back several years later to work on the same infrastructure when that system has reached the end of its operational life.
Similarly, it's not uncommon for us to work with different owners of the same piece of plant after an acquisition, and we often know a detailed history of a particular system or piece of infrastructure, due to works conducted in the past, and many of the long-term relationships we enjoy.
Some electrical contractors build infrastructure, whilst others maintain, expand, and fix it - that's what we love doing at GEC.
If you have fixed plant infrastructure that requires electrical support, please reach out...
